This is an excellent Mexican restaurant. It has all the vibes; great design/decor, music, service, and of course, the food. The food here is made with fresh sustainable ingredients using traditional methods from Mexico. Their masa one of their spotlights. The masa is fresh and crisp with a nice brick oven taste. I'm a huge fan of their lamb barbacoa; meat is tender with nice fatty pieces. The guac with chicharrones is a show stopper. This is easily the best guac I've ever had and the creamiest. We weren't big fans of the tacos dorados de papa. It was so simple tasting and the amount of puréed potatoes made this dish chalky and dry tasting. You definitely need salsa for this. We ordered caldo de pollo which was really good! It was fresh and the broth was hardy. This soup is great on a cold day. To finish my meal, I washed it down with their freshly made cafe de olla; sweet with aromatic spices and a silky texture. This coffee does not need sugar or cream!! It's perfect the way it is! Me and my wife will be back for date night and this time, we'll be clinking margaritas!

We lived in Campbell for a few years but never went to this place back when it was El Burro. I've heard El Burro wasn't that good but Luna is more of an upscale Mexican place. We came on a Saturday evening and the place was pretty packed. We were told it would be about a 20 minute wait for a table but they ended up seating us about 5 minutes later. The table was outside but the night wasn't too chilly so it was OK. We decided to split the Chico Mixed Grill, $89, (cheese chile relleno, sweet potato, Niman Ranch carnitas, Mary's free-range chicken, all-natural hormone-free steak fajita, Niman Ranch St. Louis rib, wild bacon-wrapped shrimp, jumbo wild herb garlic butter shrimp, chicken jalapeño sausage). Sounds like a TON of food doesn't it? While, not quite. You basically end up with a small serving of each item. For the 2 types of Shrimp we got ONE of each. We were a party of 2, they couldn't give us one shrimp each? Unfortunately the item they give you the most of is the one I like least, ribs. Ribs just aren't worth the hassle to me. The chips and salsa they give you to start off with are very good. And our waiter was very friendly but he had the tendency to disappear for periods of time. Bottom line, the food here is indeed good. I just feel it's a bit overpriced.

The ambiance is great, it's bigger than the alameda location. The service was also good, went with a large group. The steak salad was flavorful. We also tried the queso and guacamole. Paloma's are delicious!

Food: Complimentary chip and salsa 4/5 Chips are crispy, warm and lightly salted Both of the salsas are watery..but the green salsa really packs a spicy punch. Chili lime chicken bowl 4/5 Best dish at the meal since it was $16 but had enough portions for two people. Rice and beans are soft and fluffy. The chicken is a little bit dry but the paprika sauce helps mediate that, making the overall dish pretty.. moist? There are a lot of flavors and the bowl was well seasoned. It feels like a Chipotle burrito bowl but elevated since the ingredients feel clean and when you're done eating it all, you don't feel like you're going to knock out. Carne asada burrito 4/5 Clean and balanced flavors and textures but the intentionality of it all takes away from the character of a less """elevated""" taqueria Flour tortilla is , soft but had just enough resistance. The salsa is so good.. excellent, fresh, and sharp herb flavors. Fried cauliflower 3/5 Theres light breading on the cauliflower and the cauliflower is soft to bite into. Not much seasoning at all.. or if there are any, it's on the cauliflower but that gets lost easily. What really helped pull this appetizer together is the creamy cilantro lime sauce! The tanginess and the fresh taste kept the cauliflower from being too plain. Baja fish taco 3/5 The fish doesn't taste fresh and the tacos are overall dry. The batter that's used to fry the fish is good but the pricing is expensive for what you get. Veggie tacos with avocado on the side 3/5 These tacos were also a bit of a letdown because of the price and what you end up getting. While the veggies are cooked well and there's some sauce on the tacos, there isn't as much flavors or textures as one would like when looking at the pricing. Service: Fast and friendly! Ambiance: Well decorated. There's plenty of seating and the environment feels carefully curated.

Buddha bowl was a good attempt but disappointing. Way too many carbs and not enough variety in texture overall. The sweet potato tasted funky. The pickled onions were nice, though! Overall Luna is still a favorite, but I won't be ordering this bowl again.

Had a chance to try Luna Mexican with the hubby last week and it was a great experience! We came on a Saturday night and thankfully only had to wait around 10 minutes before we were seated. Once we sat down we decided to order: * Chicken taquitos: this was crispy and delicious, although the chicken was a little dry. However, went well with the salsa, tomatoes and lettuce it came with. * Enchiladas suiza - this was yummy and the sauce had a tangy flavor which I liked. This also came with rice and beans which was nice. We felt like the chicken was a little dry and wish it was better seasoned. However, overall the flavors went well * Cochinita Pibil - this was actually super delicious. The meat was perfectly seasoned and came with rice and beans. We also had tortillas with it which was nice. Would definitely order this again and recommend it! The food here was plenty and loved the variety of flavors. They also gave fresh chips and salsa. There was a tomato salsa and a creamy spicy one which I was absolutely obsessed with! For a date night the ambiance was perfect and service was good. Would check this spot out if in the area - they do not take reservations but it is worth it!

Overly shocked and surprised how good the quality of the food is here! I had this spot bookmarked for the longest time and finally got the chance to try! I had low expectations thinking it was overhyped and would end up being like El Jardin Tequila Bar in Santana Row but I was wrong! Came for a family gathering - party of 6 adults and a baby - around 5PM. We checked in with the host and opted to sit outside because a table inside was quoted a 30-40min wait. We were guided to the waiting line and got seated pretty quickly. Our waiter was pretty slow with us but he was very friendly. He came around to fill us water and even gave us more chips and salsa. He was also pretty inattentive as we had to ask for utensils and he wasn't good at remembering who ordered certain drinks. Note on the chips and salsa - tortilla chips were way too crispy and very hard to munch on. Surprisingly, the green salsa was spicier than the red salsa. Onto the food, my husband and I ordered Enchiladas Suizas and Crispy Shrimp Tacos, which wasn't on the menu. I was looking through yelp and so many people talked about shrimp tacos so I was craving it and the waiter said this was an order-able item. The flavor of each dish is out of this world and left me at awe! The green sauce on the enchilada was done so perfectly! I never tasted anything like this and this is probably the best enchilada I ever had! 110% recommend this dish! The shrimp tacos look disappointing at first but after a couple bites in, you will taste a burst of yumminess that gets you devouring the taco in seconds. I saw in comments that their tortilla is freshly made and it indeed is! It was really really good! Wasn't a fan of the black beans. It reminded me of Asian red bean soup. I prefer the refried beans. The rest of our party ordered Large Cheese Quesadilla, Seasonal Harvest Salad, Mole Poblano Enchiladas, Chile Relleno de Calabacitas, and Veggie Grill with Chimichurri. Although I didn't taste every single dish but just from the quality of the cheese they use in their Quesadilla and from the few dishes I tried, it shows that every dish here is perfected with its own flavor and has me wanting to come back very soon to try out other dishes! Highly recommend! Note - parking is hard to find here and very crowded!
